Once I gave it a new name, I restarted the HP Utility software and selected scan and it instantly said 'Scan to Computer is Enabled' with the green button lit.ДЇor me, a simple solution to a 3 hour search and troubleshoot session. I checked the new coumputer and saw that it had no name at all (found under the Sharing icon in System Preferences). While the software is still trying to enable scan to computer I can click on one of the shortcuts and press test. While that is going on I select Scan Tasks and a list of 6 shortcuts appear. The cursor makes the spinning motion and says 'Enabling Scan to Computer'. In the Status pane Enable Scan to computer is checked.

When opening the HP Utility the computer connects to the device (Officejet 6700 ), then at the bottom I click the Scan icon.

The firmware printer firmware version is MPM3CN1232AR which is the most current.

We have an Officejet 6700 All-in-One attached to our wireless network.
